Shepard Memorial Park

Central Adirondack Trail, U.S. Highway 9, near Lake George in Warren County

Located on Routes 9 and 9N (Canada Street), between Amherst and Montcalm, on the water of Lake George.

Dedicated in 1912 by the people of Lake George as a memorial to Edward M. Shepard, lawyer and lover of mankind, it becomes the showcase for many events including regular concerts, firemen's family days, craft shows, and other similar events. The beach is open daily during the summer with lifeguards on duty. The park contains the Centennial Fountain and the Memorial of the Ethan Allen Tragedy.
