Northville Bridge
Adirondack Trail, State Rt. 30, near Northville in Fulton County
Northville has become a destination point for Summer, Fall and Winter tourists, and this is their gateway to town.
If you’ve ever wanted to drive across at least a portion of a North Country Adirondack lake, now’s your chance. This is the fourth bridge across the Sacandaga River. A two-span Iron Bridge was built in 1882 to replace an earlier, wooden span. The 1882 iron bridge was replaced in 1929-30 with a higher Three-Span bridge to accommodate the rising water of the new Sacandaga Reservoir, now called The Great Sacandaga Lake. The current bridge went across in 1989, replacing the old blue colored three span bridge. While it might not seem like much more than a way across, it has a certain photographic charm.
