Lake George Battlefield Park

Central Adirondack Trail, U.S. Highway 9, near Lake George in Warren County

Battlefield Park on Beach Road is home to many historic sites.

The battlefield played a role in the French and Indian War (1755-1763) and the American Revolution (1775-1783). The Fort George ruins can be found here as well as an American Indian monument and a memorial to Jesuit missionary, Father Jogues. Located off U.S. Route 9 within easy walking distance Lake George Village. Battlefield Park has a commanding view of the grandeur of Lake George and its surrounding mountains. Monuments and illustrated signs scattered throughout the park tell of important events that took place on this ground. Visitors can walk the site, read interpretive signs and visit historic encampments and view historic reenactments during special events. There is also a picnic and day use area and public beach nearby.
