Kunjamuk Creek Hand Carry

Adirondack Trail, State Rt. 30, near Speculator in Hamilton County

A small land bridge involved in paddling Kunjamuk Creek near the turnouts on Route 30 and 8, east of Speculator.

A round trip of seven miles along this winding river may require more time than you think. Paddling up to Elm Lake, a turnaround point, requires lifting over several beaver dams. The first four miles of the Sacandaga River can be incorporated into this trip. It is a beautiful stillwater channel which can be paddled in either direction.
