Franklin County House of History

The Franklin County House of History strengthens community memory by supporting all efforts in Franklin County to preserve and interpret its history.

The headquarters of the Society are located at 51 Milwaukee Street in Malone, NY. This building is called the Franklin House of History and contains period rooms, collections storage, a research library, and museum offices. Mr. Nathan Knapp built the structure in 1863-1864. The Tuscan-style brick home was purchased from the Kirk family in 1973, and has housed the Society's museum collection, records and daily operations since that time.
