One of eight lakes in the Fulton Chain of Lakes, beginning with First Lake in Old Forge.
One of eight lakes in the Fulton Chain of Lakes. First, Second, Third, and Fourth Lakes are one long lake separated by narrow straits. The Old Forge Village Beach is on what is called Old Forge Pond and First Lake start just east of there. The lakes hold decent populations of game fish including northern pike, lake trout, rainbow trout, brook trout, landlocked (Atlantic) salmon, largemouth bass, smallmouth bass, yellow perch, brown bullhead, tiger muskie and various panfish. This resource is in Section 1 of the Northern Forest Canoe Trail, a 740-mile water route extending from Old Forge in the Adirondack Park to Fort Kent, Maine.
