Northern Forest Canoe Trail Western Terminus and Kiosk

Central Adirondack Trail, State Rt. 28, near Old Forge in Herkimer County

Linking the waterways of New York, Vermont, Québec, New Hampshire, and Maine, this site in Old Forge is the western terminus of the Northern Forest Canoe Trail.

An Historic 740-mile waterway traversing New York, Vermont, Quebec, New Hampshire, and Maine. Maps are available from local stores and outfitters. This western terminus is in Section 1 of the Northern Forest Canoe Trail, with the other terminus located in Fort Kent, Maine.
