The hamlet of Long Lake is in the Town of Long Lake, near the Whitney-Lake Lila Wilderness area.

The many friendly communities in Towns like this one along the CentralAdirondack Trail Scenic Byway provide the opportunity for an enjoyablewalk, refreshment, and to learn more about the region. The 153-mileCentral Adirondack Trail forms the shape of a crescent, originating inthe fertile lowland areas surrounding the cities of Glens Falls andRome, and winding through the south-central portion of the AdirondackPark. The Hudson River on the eastern end and the Erie Canal on thewest are the gateways to many scenic lakes and mountain streams thatare the distinguishing geographic features along much of this scenicbyway.
