West Branch Falls
Adirondack Trail, State Rt. 30, near Wells in Hamilton County
Hike into the Gorge on the West Branch of the Sacandaga River to the West Branch Falls area, featuring five waterfalls.
Trailhead is located at Whitehouse, west of Wells. Known by some as a great hike that is moderate in difficulty, with some climbing and a little rock climbing. Because of the proximity of the West Branch of the Sacandaga River, some streambed rock hopping will happen if the water is not too high and possibly a ford through the stream. This trip is listed in both the ADK Southern Adirondacks Guide and Discovering the Southern Adirondacks by Barbara McMartin.
