Pettit Mountain Cliffs

Adirondack Trail, State Rt. 30, near Wells in Hamilton County

North of Wells, off Route 30 is Gilmantown Road, and in the notch of these two roads is where the cliffs are located.

Part of an impressive ridget northwest of Wells, these cliffs are relatively easily reached from Gilmantown Road, where the hiker or climber will enter the woods, cross a powerline clearing and continue uphill along a sporadically marked trail. Great view of Lake Algonquin and the surrounding area.
