Warrensburg is at the confluence of the Schroon and Hudson rivers where mills once operated.

The Hamlet of Warrensburg Historic District was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2001 and is along Schroon River and the Camp Echo Lake, in north Warrensburg, and includes 2,755 acres, 351 buildings, and 5 structures. From central Warrensburg and Route 9 (Main Street), take Hudson Street approximately 1 mile, and on left is Beach Avenue and state property access.
