The Hyde Collection
Central Adirondack Trail, U.S. Highway 9, near Glens Falls in Warren County
A gem of a museum that merits a detour, a modern museum complex offering the authenticity and charm of a historic house filled with antiques, tapestries and art, and two main galleries with changing exhibitions.
Located at 161 Warren St., Glens Falls, the museum offers a world class collection of objects that span the history of western art from the fourth century B.C. through the twentieth century. The Museum's founders, Louis and Charlotte Hyde, acquired the majority of objects during a fifty-year period of avid and highly informed collecting. Many of these works are displayed in their home, known as Hyde House. Parking is available on Warren Street and behind the Museum. Handicapped parking is located in front of Hyde House. $8 suggested donation; entrance fee may apply during special exhibitions.
