Indian Lake Day Use and Picnic Area

Central Adirondack Trail and Adirondack Trail, State Rt. 30, near Indian Lake in Hamilton County

NYS DEC operated picnic area and day use area near the Lewey Lake campground.

12 miles south of Indian Lake toward Speculator on Route 30. Amenities include picnic areas with tables and fireplaces, pit toilets, pay telephone, and nearby hiking trails such as the one to Snowy Mountain with breathtaking view of lakes and mountains. Boat access for power boats, rowboats, and canoes. Canoe rentals available at Indian Lake Campground and at adjacent Lewey Lake Campground. Fish present in the lake include: lake trout, rock bass, rainbow trout, smelt, brown bullheads, smallmouth bass, brown trout, yellow perch, common sunfish, white sucker, lake whitefish, northern pike, and landlocked salmon.
