Hike for a day or a week along the Northville - Placid Trail, starting at this trailhead on the Adirondack Trail Scenic Byway
Northville Placid Trail Trailhead
Adirondack Trail, State Rt. 30, near Northville in Fulton County
One of many access points along the way, this often difficult, long distance trail can be best enjoyed in smaller sections.
Coordinates put the hiker or cross country skier nearly at the southern end of the Trail, just off Benson Road, on or near Washburn Road, west of Route 30 and north of Northville. No high mountains are encountered in this section, but the forests are as wild as any found on the trail. Hikers are advised to get the latest trail conditions from the NYS DEC, as well as good, weatherproof maps and guidebooks published by the Adirondack Mountain Club.
