Gull Island State Unique Area
Olympic Byway, County Rt. 3, near Sackets Harbor in Jefferson County
One acre Gull Island is part of the Lake Ontario Islands Bird Conservation Area, with three islands for 64 acres total, as managed by NYS DEC in Jefferson County.
Public access to the waterbird nesting colonies included in the Lake Ontario Islands Bird Conservation Area is restricted to protect the islands value as one of the premier colonial waterbird nesting areas in North America.
