A compact network of trails traversing gently rolling terrain and winding through a mixed forest to a view of the lake on from the shore of Lake Placid.

Running for a length of 3 miles, the trailhead best accessed from Lake Placid behind Comfort Inn, with terrain that involves interconnecting, easy trails, dirt road and hard-packed single track traversing gently rolling terrain and winding through forest and along the shore of Lake Placid. Lakeside Trail has nice views overlooking the lake, several benches and a dock near the small outlet dam. Also a popular Mountain Bike trail and cross country ski trail. A brochure is available from the DEC in Ray Brook while the Jack Rabbit Trail has ski maps.
