The Black River-Huntington Bike and Hike Trail runs along the southern shore of the Black River, fairly parallel to Route 3 on the north shore.
Accessible from the eastern boundary of Watertown off outer Huntington Street and abandoned railroad route traversing the banks of the Black River to the Village of Black River. Phase I of a three-phased development project provides limited offroad parking off Huntington Street with a paved, 4 mile, year-round multiuse trail system, scenic vistas offering breathtaking views overlooking the river.
