The Black River originates in the western Adirondacks and then follows the divide between the Tug Hill Plateau and the Adirondack foothills to Carthage.
Traverse 115 miles to Lake Ontario through the center of the Village of Black River. A focal point for development, scenic vistas, picnic areas, fishing area and portages are located throughout the village, inviting visitors to linger along its banks or experience the thrill of the swift moving water in a canoe or kayak.
