Historical Society in Henderson
Olympic Byway, State Rt. 3, near Henderson Harbor in Jefferson County
Sited in Henderson, named for William Henderson, wealthy NYC land speculator, who bought Lot Number 6 of William Constable's Eleven Towns in 1795 for $1 an acre.
The former Henderson Universalist Church now houses the Henderson Historical Society and Museum. Houses exhibits of area and historical interest including Henderson Harbor Guide Boats, The Reading Corner, a repository for the former Henderson Central School, Town Records, 19th and 20th Century artifacts and products. Located at the junction of County Route 72 and Penney Road, at 12581 County Route 72, it is open from May thru September. Phone 315-938-7163.
