Carthage State National Register Historic Business District
Olympic Byway, County Rt. 3, near Carthage in Jefferson County
Located in the vicinity of 511 State Street.
First Baptist Church and Cook Memorial Building was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2005. A large fire in 1884 spread across the river from West Carthage and caused extensive damage, reducing more than 150 buildings to ruin.
