Black River Cartop Launch and Portage near Herrings
Olympic Byway, County Rt. 3, near Herrings in Jefferson County
The Brookfield Power-Herring cartop boat launch site is located east-southeast of Herrings, on Route 3.
From Carthage running northwestward to the Hamlet of Herrings is a stretch of flatwater. At Herrings and the Launch area, is a very short portage route that skirts the southern edge of town and puts the boater on the other side of the dam.
