Serving as an historic travel route connecting Canada and New York’s Mohawk Valley, it features unparalleled public access to the mountains and lakes of the Adirondack region. Climbing from the south out of the Mohawk Valley near Johnstown and Gloversville, and from the north out of the St. Lawrence Seaway near Malone, the 188-mile Scenic Byway provides numerous opportunities to explore history and enjoy recreational activities year-round.
