Panoramic views and spectacular scenery are a great reason for a drive along the Scenic Byways of Upstate New York
Raquette Pond Waterfront Park and Walkway
Olympic Byway, State Rt. 3, near Tupper Lake in Franklin County
Not to be confused with Raquette Lake, further to the west, this is the main body of water skirting the western edge of town.
The huge site of a giant mill that burned in a spectacular fire down on the lake shore is a now a public park, and home to local events, including the annual Woodsmen Field Days festival where lumberjack skills are on display every July. This route follows arterial highway Routes 3 and 30. A designated NYS Bike Route, this provides 6 to 10 foot shoulders to accommodate bicycle travel. At the beginning points of this route at either end of the TL Village limits, sidewalks accommodate pedestrians, linking to the Village Center, Park Street and Demars Boulevard, and Mill Street.
